Here’s The Awesome New Danny MacAskill Feature One Year In The Making…

This is what it's like to tour Europe for a year with the most famous trials rider in the world

It’s always a treat when Danny MacAskill rolls out pretty much anything, so when he declared that he was starting his own touring trials crew last year, we were pretty damn excited.

The Drop and Roll tour got rolling last summer, heading around some of the biggest events in the United Kingdom and entertaining plenty on the continent as well, and now Danny and the team have released this awesome feature from their first season in action.

Joining MacAskill on the road are style master Ali C, no-holds-barred rider Fabio Wibmer and manager-rider Duncan Shaw. From Danny taking on DIY and front-flipping into water to the crew ripping crazy lines around the European mainland, their travelling antics make for an awesome watch…

Speaking in the video, Danny remembers: “For a number of years now myself and Duncan Shaw had talked about starting our own show team.

“Back in 2008 or 2009 we both rode for The Clan, a Scottish cycle stunt team, and we knew that there an opportunity to start a team that travelled all around Europe and potentially around the world.”

That’s exactly how it materialised for the team. They’ve now put on shows at everywhere from the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow to the Red Bull Air Race in Ascot, and they’ve had slightly more luxurious breaks in the likes of Malaga, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Switzerland as well.

“2014 with Drop and Roll has been so much fun,” the rider continued. “I think the shows have exceeded my expectations in what we could do in our first year. Now over winter we’re just working on the show and the rig to make it bigger and better for 2015.”

Indeed, the Mpora team were lucky enough to catch the guys in action at Ascot, and the pure stack of backflips, big drops and science-defying lines they took on was strong enough to leave any audience stunned.

If they’ve been improving the show even further over the off-season then, it’ll no doubt be an even more unmissable spectacle now, and we can’t wait to check it out.
