Sometimes it’s the simplest pieces of kit that can make all the difference. The CamelBak StoAway is the best solution for a common winter problem: frozen water. We’re fans of the hydration bladder with a tube you can easily access, mainly because it encourages us to drink and to stay dehydrated. And even more so in winter – it’s amazing what an effort stopping to get a water bottle out of your bag can be when cold and wet. Especially if you’re skiing, snowboarding or mountain biking.
But while they’re great, hydration packs can also be susceptible to problems in winter. Water in the bladders and especially in drinking tubes can freeze, even at temperatures around 0 degrees C. The StoAway, which is an insulated sleeve for your water bladder rather than a backpack itself, solves this problem and adds in a few more features to boot.

The insulation stops the bladder from freezing, but it still has a low profile, and the insulation doesn’t really add extra bulk. The tube is completely insulated, as is the bite valve itself. It’s made from BPA and BPS free material.
