Grand Canyon Railway
Having fallen into disuse, the original line from the Arizona town of Williams to the edge of the Grand Canyon was bought and restored in 1989. An atmospheric 65-mile journey through desert, prairie and pine, the 1920s and ’50s carriages give an insight into bygone eras of US train travel. For iconic landscapes and a nostalgic feel, this train journey is hard to beat.
