Located on the west coast of New Zealand’s North Island, Muriwai is definitely easier to look at than it is to pronounce.
It stands out not just because of the ‘Lord of the Rings’ style mountains behind the beach, but also because of it’s trademark black sand.
As a spot for surfers as well, Muriwai plays host to some decent wind and waves. So expect some big airs…
