Endangered Mexican Black Bears Recreate The Opening Scene From Mission Impossible 2

These bears are better at rock-climbing than you, or Tom Cruise, will ever be‏‏.

Remember that opening scene of Mission Impossible II, where Tom Cruise does a spot of rock-climbing. Oh, and there’s jeopardy, so much jeopardy. Because you’re not entirely sure whether ‘Cruisey’ is going to make it to the top, or fall to his death (even though he was on all of the promotional posters, and it would be quite a short film if he died before the story had even begun).

Now, imagine that scene from Mission Impossible II and take away Tom Cruise. That’s right, pretend Tom Cruise doesn’t exist. Pretend Tom Cruise doesn’t exist, and you’re a Hollywood director in desperate need of a lead actor to climb-rocks and complete missions that are deemed “impossible”, despite evidence to the contrary.

What do you do? Who do you call? Is Kevin Costner available? Look, just stop worrying about it. Things are going to work out fine, you know how we know? Because of this video, this incredible video that demonstrates the rock-climbing prowess of Mexican Black Bears.

Our favourite thing about this footage, filmed on the Santa Elena Canyon Wall, is the brave cub climbing just below the mother. These two are, clearly, a rock-climbing dream team. Spotting for each other and ensuring, a la Tom Cruise, that they complete their mission. The mission, in this case, is to make it up the wall and not fall to a grisly death (grizzly – grisly, see what we did there).

If you’re going to call your films “Mission Impossible”, by the way, we want to see a variety of secret agents attempting and ultimately failing to complete the mission. Thus, proving that the mission is indeed impossible. With that in mind, Mpora would like the franchise to be immediately renamed in order to more accurately reflect the films’ content.

‘Mission Possible 5: It’s Going To Be Quite Difficult, But Tom Cruise Will Find A Way’ should be out in cinemas this summer (2015).
