Everyone Wants To Live The #VanLife. But Which Camper Is Right For You?

If you were an adventure van, which would you be?

If you’re anything like us, you spend most days at work secretly looking through posts online of people who live on the road in beautiful vans.

Once you start looking for your own however, you quickly realise that there are hundreds of different types of camper waiting to be converted into an explorer’s dream home.

Whether you a surfer, adventurer or eco warrior, the perfect van is waiting for  you….

1) For Surfers

The VW Westfalia van is a staple for all adventurers, but especially for surfers.

There’s space within the van for four boards, as well as bars available to put your mals on the top.

Our favourite thing about being a surfer with a Westfalia however, is the old school keys.

No electric key means no leaving your keys on the beach!

Get a van from around £2,500

2) For Explorers

The VW Transporter is one of those vans that can be totally overlooked in the every day, then look like the coolest adventure in the world when converted properly.

The transporter is a firm favorite for anyone looking to really live the van life because of its ample space.

The van is also a good bet for long journeys as its one of the easier vans to get repaired across various countries if necessary!

Get a van from  around £3,000

3) For Retro Adventurers

Ahhh, we love the old Toyota Chinook vans.

Away from any other reasons to get this Toyota van, the main one has to be that it just looks really cool.

Of course, the Chinook isn’t the most sensible van to get, as it has been out of production for quite a few years.

If you want an interesting looking retro van however, this guy is the one.

Get a van from around £2,000 ( if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on  one!)

4) For Broke Adventurers That Need Space

The Chevrolet Express van is not known for being good looking, or particularly cool.

It is known for being cheap.

While the cheapest Chevy Express can look like a white van, if you convert one well, they can make a really good first van!

Get a van from around £1,500

5) For Adventurers With Some Dolla’

The split-screen VW is the definitive surf van. When you think of surfers, you imagine one of these.

These guys don’t come cheap however, in fact they’re pretty much a collectors item now, with even the most banged up vans going for some considerable money.

Want to invest in a seriously cool van? This van is the coolest one out there. Want to live the vanlife but don’t have a huge budget? Look elsewhere…

Get a van from around £22,000

6) For Solo Adventurers

Look at it! It’s so cute!

The Mitsubishi Minicab is a great van, in a smaller size.

For people planning to travel together on the road however, you might end up murdering each other travelling in this little vehicle…..

If you’re going it alone however, this van could become your new best friend!

Get a van from around £1,000

7) For Eco Adventurers

The Vixen van is pretty weird looking, however it’s also one of the most fuel efficient vans out there!

The low center of gravity and compact size of this van means that it’s super energy efficient, while the five-speed stick shift and powerful turbo allows for very sporty driving.

While it’s not a big van, it has a generator, a water heater and a two house batteries.

Best of all, you’ll never lose it in the car park!

Get a van from around £13,000
