How do you promote the opening of a new shop? Most people book the chubby one from that boy band to stand about with a massive pair of scissors, ready to cut a equally large ribbon. New Apple Stores are hyped by sending Bono around your house to moan about about some bollocks or other.
The folks behind the new IKEA in Clermont-Ferrand, France have hit upon a rad way of highlighting their latest flatpack outlet. They’ve built a 30foot high, novelty climbing wall.
The wall is fully functional, staffed by experienced climbers, and covered in IKEAs trademark inexpensive and weirdly named furniture. The wall’s only in place for a few more days, so if you want to hang, two fingered from a Fjädermoln, you’d better get you skates on.
