Well fear not! Help is at hand, as the world welcomes with open arms the ‘Copenhagen Wheel’.
What is the Copenhagen Wheel?
The Copenhagen Wheel is a wheel kit that can replace the rear wheel of almost any single speed, hybrid, urban or commuter bike.
The red disk on the wheel houses a motor, removable batteries, wireless connectivity and 12 different sensors that analyse your ride.

The moment you start pedalling, the Copenhagen Wheel kicks in and gives you an extra push that can deliver 3-10x your regular foot power.
What can it do?
The Copenhagen Wheel can wirelessly connect to your smartphone. Via its own app the rider will be able to alternate through different settings to “customise the ride.”
One of these features is the ‘Flatten’ feature. This will give you the ability to crush the laws of gravity and destroy inclines.

As you ride a hill the motor in the Copenhagen Wheel turns on. This reduces the resistance of the pedals and gives the feeling of riding along a flat road… not the worst idea we’ve ever heard in the history of ideas.
As well as controlling when and how the motor on the Copenhagen Wheel is helping you ride, the smartphone can also record where you ride, your speed and how much energy you have saved. This can be shown as a target to beat on your next ride.
You can also use the wheel to remotely lock and unlock your bike from your phone.
The app can also tell you information about the environment around you, like carbon dioxide levels, which is breathtakingly helpful….
Some of the more suspect features aside, the Copenhagen Wheel is actually a pretty cool and innovative idea that could hopefully entice people to leave their cars at home and bike in the city.
