Olympic silver-medallist Mark Cavendish has been praised on social media for a hilariously candid interview on C4 television show Sunday Brunch.
The Manchester-based road cyclist spoke out about “terrible” food, faulty lifts and even admitted congratulated most Team GB athletes he came across, since with Team GB finishing a sensational second in the medal table overall, the “chances are they’ve won something”.
He said: “In Team GB’s apartment there’s these lifts that didn’t work. You had to wait ten minutes for them, and they come and there’s half the British team in them because they’ve all been waiting ten minutes. It came to the end of the week and even if you don’t know them you’re best off saying congratulations because we won so many medals. Chances are they’ve won something.”
Mark also spoke out on a comical situation at the velodrome in Rio de Janeiro where the athletes couldn’t get in the vehicle entrance because they had bikes, but also couldn’t get in the regular entrance… because they had bikes.
