These Cyclists Found an Awesome Way to Demonstrate Why Bikes Are Better Than Cars

This pro-cycling protest would really piss Jeremy Clarkson off

It’s one of the best arguments in favour of pedal power over petrol power in today’s crowded cities: Cars just take up too much damn space.

Recently a group of Latvian cyclists came up with a brilliant way to make the point, constructing car-sized frames around their bikes and cycling to work in traffic.

Not only do these things show how much space a single commuter in a car takes up, they also demonstrate how little space a single commuter needs – if they were to ride a bike instead.

The Let’s Bike It project aims to promote the development of cycling and cycling culture in Russia and across the countries of the former Soviet Union – places where cars are usually considered king.

They favour direct action events, similar to approach taken by the Critical Mass group in London. You can find out more about them on their VKontakte page here.
