Ricky Gervais Gets NSFW After Seriously Struggling to Pump Up Bike Tyre

We'd hate to see what would happen if he got a puncture on the road...

Bike maintenance is shit. It’s fiddly and it’s annoying and it means that your bike isn’t working right – which, to come full circle on our original sentence, is shit.

Seriously, is there anything that can bring out the swear words faster than feeling your tyre puncture while you’re out on a ride? We’re genuinely not sure there is. Especially if you’ve left the spare inner-tube at home that day (which of course you should never do, but everyone is bound to at some point or other, and sod’s law dictates that it will be that one time that your tyre will puncture).

For those who are new to cycling though, it needn’t even be a puncture to bring you to the point of utter despair and damnation.

Take Ricky Gervais for example. Ricky has clearly taken up cycling recently, or we’re guessing so by the rather sizeable struggle he had with one of the more basic maintenance tasks in the world of the bicycle – pumping up a tyre.

Judging from the picture, poor Ricky just forgot or didn’t realise he was meant to open up the small brass cap on the tip of the valve. And he got more than a little angry about it – going as far as introducing the hashtag #CuntBike.

Which seems a little harsh on the bike. Still Twitter helped him out…

We’ve all been there at some point though, no matter how minor the issue, and we can understand as well as anyone the furies involved in not being able to get rolling when you want.

Needless to say though, not all of the internet was so useful right away…

Anyway, we hope your future efforts go better Ricky. And that you don’t get a puncture anytime soon. Imagine the hashtag…
