Where can you watch the road cycling at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and when is it on?
It’s a pivotal question for those who, y’know, want to watch the road cycling at the Olympic Games, obviously, and since we know the information can be difficult to access in amongst the library of information and circus of other sports being offered on the Olympic website, we thought we’d make it real simple and list them off below.
There are two Olympic road cycling disciplines, with four total events; the time trial and the road race, in both the men’s and women’s categories.
The road race sees all riders take off in a mass start and race to the finish line, where the first one to cross wins. The time trial sees riders compete individually against the clock, being released at 90 second intervals. The rider with the quickest overall time from the day wins the gold medal.
