Guy Tries To Eat Tour de France Rider’s Diet In One Sitting… And Vomits Everywhere

There's a reason the usual male calorie intake is only 2800 per day...

Tour de France cyclists, naturally, do a whole lot of cycling. The riders cover over 2,000 miles in the 23-day showcase, and they need a hell of a lot of calories to keep them going through the course of the event.

To be a bit more specific, the riders of the TdF need over 8,000 calories a day, which may sound like the ultimate cheat day at first, but when you consider that even a McDonald’s Big Mac only has 257 calories… well, the intake begins to sound a little less appealing.

Whether that’s made up from steak, energy bars or the student stable that is pesto-pasta, it’s a whole lot of food to get down you in one day – especially when it’s noted that the usual intake for a man in one day is 2800 calories.

So, safe to say that if you weren’t a professional cyclist or a high-endurance athlete of some sort, eating as much as the cycling lot do in one day would be near enough suicidal.

Or would it?

One thing that we at Mpora can guarantee you is absolutely not as strenuous as competing in a Grant Tour road cycling event, is writing about it.

The video plays out exactly as you imagine it will…

So, when Norwegian journalist Nicolay Ramm decided he’d try to take down the massive 8,000 calories of food consumed daily by TdF riders in one sitting, we were more than excited to see how he got on.

Needless to say, the video plays out exactly as you imagine it will. Nicolay struggles with the table of food and drink almost as much as he’d struggle to complete the Tour de France itself. Moral of the story kids? Don’t try this at home. Eat within your means.
