Three-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome bagged himself a bronze medal in today’s Men’s Individual Time Trial event at Rio 2016. While a shake of the head from Froome upon crossing the line illustrated his own disappointment with not winning, we don’t think Froome-y should be too hard on himself. Road cycling legend Fabian Cancellara was on another level today, finishing nearly a minute ahead of Tom Dumouilin who came second. You win some, you lose some; as they say.
Here’s how Twitter responded to Chris Froome’s bronze medal. Most offered congratulations but, because this is Twitter and some people don’t know how to be nice on Twitter, some thought Froome should have done better and that his third place finish should be marked off as a medal lost rather than a medal won (we think that’s massively unfair on Chris, but everyone’s entitled to their opinion we guess).
