There are few things that are better than getting out on your bike and cycling around, but one of the things that just might give it a run for its money is drinking beer, because let’s face it, beer is great.
The thing is that while it may be commonplace for a mountain biker or a BMXer to drain some cans while they’re cutting about on two-wheels, you wouldn’t expect to see the same in the fitness-heavy world of road cycling – and certainly not from a pro-rider doing his thing in the Tour de France.
But that’s exactly why we love Lotto-Soudal rider Adam Hansen. So, so much.

In case you don’t know, Adam is the guy who likes drinking beer almost as much as he likes a good cycle, and he’s a damn professional in both of those fine arts.
As he raced up stage 20 of the Tour de France in Alpe d’Huez on Saturday, Hansen grabbed a beer from the crowd on Dutch corner and got involved in the merriment, with his pedalling requirements fulfilled for the day.
The cyclist is no stranger to a beer on the Tour either. In 2013 he was filmed by a fan grabbing a beer off a spectator and necking it on Dutch corner, and snapped in the action as well…

Then in 2014, he was filmed swapping his water bottle for a tinnie on the Tour of Turkey, because, let’s face it, he’s just a top f*cking boy.
It’s been a tough Tour for Adam after dislocating his shoulder in the first week, meaning that he’s been in a whole lot of pain for the rest of the competition, though presumably with more than just warm beer to use as a painkiller.
Safe to say that he had definitely earned his beer when it came to Dutch corner then, and as far as we’re concerned, he deserves many more free pints as well. If we ever see you down the Mpora local Adam, the drinks are on us!
