How Much For The Hoverboard? $14,900 ArcaBoard Unveiled At Prestigious Event In Monaco

Welcome to 2016. The future of "boarding" has officially arrived.

When you think about Monaco, what do you see in your mind’s eye? For some of us, it’s the iconic Formula One race. For others, it’s that stupid stand-off in Iron Man 2 between Robert Downey Jr and a whip-wielding Mickey Rourke (which, if our memory serves us right, also takes place at the Formula One race). Some people probably imagine yachts, luxury hotels, and glitzy casinos when they think of Monaco. But, what about hoverboards? Anyone? Proper hoverboards?

After the ArcaBoard made its first public demonstration in Monaco recently, which you can watch in the video down the bottom of this page, you might just be adding hoverboards to the list of things synonymous with the independent micro-state on France’s Mediterranean coastline.

The demonstration occurred at the prestigious Top Marques Event. It was attended by the Prince of Monaco, and featured a line-up best described as a Top Gear fan’s wet dream. Aston Martin, Jaguar, Porsche, Maserati; name a fancy car manufacturer, and you can be sure that they were there showing off their wares.

The ArcaBoard is considered to be the world’s first ever commercially available hoverboard. However, before you rush on over to their website and order yourself one in beige, green and blue, you should know that one of these little babies will set you back an eye-popping $14,900.

Maybe you’ve got $14,900 knocking about, maybe your dad is Donald Trump, but if you’re a normal person, with a normal amount of money, you’re probably going to have to make-do with a slightly more affordable type of “boarding” (skateboarding and snowboarding, spring to mind).
