Caprices | The Music Festival Bringing Techno To Crans-Montana Ski Town

Caprices is the snow-based music festival bringing the biggest names in techno to the small Swiss mountain town of Crans-Montana.

The 14th edition of the festival is set to run from 6-9 April, with the line up including the likes of Seth Troxler, Marcel Dettman, Ben Klock, Ricardo Villalobos, the Martinez Brothers, Jamie Jones, Paris collective Apollonia, Kerri Chandler, Cassy, Manolo and plenty more.

The festival will take place on three stages across four days, with daytime MDRNTY stage running from 12-7pm and the Moon stage starting up at 7pm and running until 5am.

Best bring a hangover cure then – although as we all know, there’s no better way to dust off the cobwebs than to get out in that fresh mountain air and get on your skis or snowboard.

Crans offers an incredible view of both the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc. There’s 140km of pistes across 41 runs, half of which are red and 11% of which are black runs – but also plenty for beginners. So whatever your level you’ll be able to get your turns in before getting back to the techno.

And let’s face it, what could be better for curing a hangover than getting back at it and watching Seth Troxler b2b with Ricardo Villalobos halfway through the afternoon?

Caprices will also have a partnership with Crans-Montana venue Cry d’Er-Club d’Altitude; a restaurant and club perched at an altitude of 2,220m, which will be hosting a Caprices event for the first time.

Now the third festival stage, Cry d’Er-Club d’Altitude will will be hosting the likes of Villalobos, Sonja Moonear, Franky Greiner, and Dorian Paic.

Festival director Maxime Léonard said: “I wanted to create a completely different atmosphere for our premiere at the Cry d’ER.

“Ricardo Villalobos will be there and, despite being a regular at Caprices, each of his sets is always a surprise. His musical tone is exactly what I was looking for for this event. Melodious and cosmic.

“The members of Apollonia already made Paris’ best clubs vibrate with their solo performances in the 90s, and now these bosses of deep house will be firing up the Moon, accompanied by another king of the genre, American house hero Kerri Chandler, who only comes to Switzerland twice a year.

“With the Caprices festival, we have always sought to innovate and to give both the public and artists more and more each year, and in 2017 we shall do that once more.”

Stay tuned for more updates from Caprices. We’ll be out there getting some videos and doing some writing. So if you’re booked to be there too – come say hello! And if not, well, here’s the link: caprices.ch
