There are good times and bad times to try and stomp a front flip.
Good times include a bluebird day in the park, a powdery day in the backcountry, or when someone puts a gun to your head and says he will literally kill you if you don’t attempt one.
In the same vein, a bad time to try a front flip would be when you have no idea where you’re going, when the unreasonable dude with the gun has asked you to try a back flip, or when your landing pad happens to be in the middle of a tree.
The latter is exactly what happened to a skier in Kiroro, Japan last week though, and it’s not hard to see why the video of his badass branch crash has gone absolutely viral.
Seriously, one watch of this video and you’ll never want to front flip face first into a tree again. Because that’s the kind of thing the kids are putting on their bucket lists these days, right?
Anyway, as gnarly as the whole process is, the skier in question actually doesn’t look too shaken up by the surreal scenario.
After some brilliant app-lead advice from a local doctor, he’s told that he’s good to go but he should lay off skiing for a few days. Seeing as he’s in Japan and the powder looks insane, we can only assume that he completely ignored this advice.
