At last! The age old question can finally be resolved: Are skiers better at football than footballers.
A bunch of Norwegians split into two teams, Team Telemark who were repping arsing about on snow, and Team Ronaldos, named after Bradford City footballer Ian Ronaldo. Probably.
There are a lot of skills (or ‘tekkers’ as we hear the Football Jizzers in the pub saying) on display from both of the normally opposing worlds of skiing and football, along with some frankly shocking goal keeping. The defence needs to tighten up at the back, especially if the full-backs are going to push up.
Yeah, we’ve just watched 10 minutes of Match Of The day on iPlayer to learn that. Pretty good right?
“Fing about Arsenal is, they always try an’ walk it in…”
Happily, we can report that the outcome confirms what we all knew anyway, Skiing beat football 2-1 when one of Team Telemark bent in a stunning free kick from 30 yards, reminiscent of the Roberto Carlos goal against France in le Tournoi back in 1998 (thanks Google).
