With the Mach1, Tecnica have designed the ultimate frontside mountain ski boot for skiers rated anywhere from intermediate to advanced. Created with an anatomically shaped shell and liner, the boot is designed to provide maximum comfort out of the box, but also be easy to customise further if that’s your wish. Want you ski boots to feel like slippers for the entire day? The dream might just be possible.

With a unique dimple effect on the shell, Tecnica have enabled the plastics to be easily stretched and distorted from their natural shape in the event of an isolated stretch. Also the uniquely designed thermo-moldable liner enhances heel hold when formed to the foot, but is also less prone to packing out as much as its competitors on the market. In layman’s terms, this means it will hold its shape for a much longer period of time.

To connect the cuff and the lower, Tecnica also designed a new carbon T-Drive connector which promotes power transmission from the skier, through the boot and into the ski, for the most intuitive feeling when riding from edge to edge. 

Ease of use and maximum performance would’ve been at the top of the criteria when designing this boot and Tecnica have certainly covered all bases, even down to the buckles that secure your foot. The ‘Lift-Lock’ system suspends the buckles in an upright position when not fastened to allow an easy entry into the boot. We like it a lot. 

This, paired with a softer plastic on the instep, helps the foot slide in, hassle-free, and prevents the early morning struggle of wrestling with your boots on those cold mornings in the midst of winter. To top it all off, these boots come pre-attached with gripwalk soles which do exactly what they say on the tin. Yes, you guessed it, they make things feel grippier when you walk.

By stripping back the traditional ski boot and focusing on all the key areas that will provide the best fit and performance, Technica have developed a simple yet highly intuitive ski boot that can conform to all different foot shapes and maintain impressive power transmission. There are low, medium and high volume options of the Mach1, meaning there’s a choice for everyone to get their optimum fit out of the box. It also gives you the option to go tighter for a more reactive fit, if that’s what you desire.

The flex ranging from 100, for the intermediate skiers wanting a comfortable ride, to 130, for maximum performance, opens up this boot to a whole plethora of skiers. Tecnica have, without a doubt, covered all bases with this boot. You’ll love it.
