These Insane Snowboard Lines Are Verging On Suicidal … And You’re Invited Along For The Ride

These 5 big mountain POV lines are pant-shittingly scary!

We saw this sick GoPro footage shot by Elias Elhardt, and it blew our mind (Tip: crank the quality as high as your internet will allow).

It’s taken from the pro snowboarders new web series called The Elias GoPro Show, which is set to feature POV videos of the rider slaying some of the sweetest spots on the planet, from Japan to Alaska.

We’re not jealous at all.

But this pant-ruiningly-steep line got us thinking: what are the gnarliest POV back country lines ever?

1. James Stentiford at Bec de Rosses

Back in 2011, the UK’s James Stentiford finished third overall in the Nissan Extreme in Verbier with this insane line. Stenti’s back country skills are the gift that keeps on giving; he now runs courses where he passes on skills and knowledge gained while dropping mad lines like this.

2. Travis Rice Art Of The Flight Bonus Footage

Absolutely all of this run is nuts. Just, nuts. But the front three (1min in)  and the back flip (1m17s) are … words fail us.

 3. Xavier de la Rue

Here’s a complete little collection from the French speed freak, Xavier de la Rue. At one point, old Xavier was clocked on a police speed gun as doing 817zillion miles an hour. Genuinely.

This all comes from the trailer for the film This Is My Winter, which comes packaged with a box of tissues, ready for when you get a nose bleed (or need them for anything else.. perverts).

4.  Jeremy Jones – Further

Taken from his 2012 film Further, this footage shows our Jezza split boarding in a bid to ride some of the most inhospitable and untouched spots on the snow-covered globe.

5. Mike Basich at the World Heli Challenge

No back country POV list would be complete without Mike Basich cropping up somewhere, would it. The dude pretty much pioneered wearable cameras. This incredible run was at the World Heli Challenge in New Zealand.

Check out the sick cliff drop (1m25).
