Burton Snowboards Release Their First Edit Of The New Season, And It’s A Must Watch

You'll Have Burton Presents: Heavy Rotation on, err, heavy rotation

Just as the sight of a first butterfly signals Summer, and a festive tabloid kiss-and-tell signals the end of a newly crowned X Factor winners career, the first Burton Presents has been released, therefore signalling the start of the snowboard season.

As the Official Mpora Burton Presents Correspondent – a title I’ve invented no more than a minute ago – I’m fully aware that there are many other events, happenings, and signifiers that could be regarded as the first sign of the snowboarding season, but – as William Shakespeare once famously wrote – you don’t get to be Official Mpora Burton Presents Correspondent by focusing on non-Burton Presents stuff. Eyes on the prize.

Anyway, there’s a new Burton Presents out. And it’s alright. You know. Big B have rolled out some of their heavy hitters for the first episode. Danny Davis and Mark McMorris get much of the screen time which, when you think about it, makes it sound like an ill-conceived buddy movie about a hippy and a preppy college kid. But it’s not. It’s eight minutes of snowboarding and kind of adventury aspirational life style stuff.

“Ferguson is going to go from good, to mind-blowingly brilliant “

Ben Ferguson makes up the trio. Arguably, Ferguson is less well known than his two on-screen pals, but I have a feeling he’s going to end up as one of those snowboarders who goes from good, to mind-blowingly brilliant in a handful of years, eventually taking his place on the Travis Rice, Jeremy Jones, JP Walker, Terje Haakonsen train snowboarding greatness.

In the eight minutes, we get to see the lads splitboarding, buying records, chatting to R&B dude Charles Bradley, hooning around in a military-green camper van, and there’s even some snowboarding going on at times as well.

So yeah, sit back, have a watch, and feel that warm glow in your heart and itch in your feet that comes with knowing that snowboarding for another five months is just around the corner.

Oh Burton Presents, I love you.
