Nicolas Müller Resonance Full Part

Absinthe Films’ stunningly shot movies are always packed with the maddest styles from the cutting edge of snowboarding, all set against some of the wildest terrain out there. But when scouting for locations, often they can do no better than the home turf of their featured snowboarders. After all, a lot of these guys got so good precisely because of the sweet terrain on their doorstep, and they’re sure to know exactly where to find the most challenging spots. So it’s always a real treat to watch top professionals shredding it in their backyards, and this video of Nicolas Müller’s full part from Absinthe’s new movie Resonance is a perfect example.

Nicholas has been tearing up the backcountry around Swiss ski resort Laax ever since he was a lad growing up in nearby Aarau. Like many snowboarders, he started off on skis, spent his summers skateboarding, and one day realised that the skills he was developing on four wheels could work just as well on the piste (or off it, for that matter) as at the park. He ditched the skinny skis in favour of a nice, fat snowboard, and the rest is history. In 2005 he was voted TransWorld Snowboarder of the Year, and in 2012 picked up a gold at the Winter X Games in the Real Snow Backcountry event.

But his focus has always been more on producing truly radical film parts than on winning competitions, and in this one he plays an absolute blinder. The terrain is nothing short of breathtaking, particularly at the point when we witness Nicholas expertly manoeuvring his way around what looks like the beginnings of an avalanche. So altogether yet another classic from both Nicholas and Absinthe. Be sure to catch the whole film when you get the chance.
