Ever wanted to go surfing in Hawaii but worried about the cost of accommodation? Wished there was a kind of Airbnb specifically for surfers? Well, you’re in luck…

Swap & Surf is a new website set up by French cousins Fifou and Sylvain.

The aim is to help you organise a surf trip by getting in contact with a local and exchanging living spaces, sharing accommodation or just swapping info about a destination.

It’s kinda like that cheesy Christmas rom-com The Holiday, only you know you are swapping pads with a fellow surfers.

One of the things that makes it different to say, Airbnb, is no money is exchanged. So you can stay for free, which makes things a lot easier, and you can always repay the service if your host wants to come stay in your hometown.

The idea is that it taps into the ‘club’ of surfers who live around the world, sharing tips on where to rent boards, surf, eat and get a beer at the end of the day.

It’s free to be a member at the moment, but eventually they will bring in an annual subscription –  but for now, login and get scrolling. You never know which dream surf destination you might end up.
