Earlier today, Surf Snowdonia, the world leading artificial surf garden in Wales has been forced to close to the public. The wave garden facility that has turned the eyes of the world to the otherwise sleepy Conwy Valley in North Wales has developed a mechanical fault, meaning that it will have to close it’s doors for several days.

In order to carry out the necessary repairs to the wave garden, engineers need to drain the lagoon completely. The repair process will take several days and team at Surf Snowdonia will update their customers with more information as the situation becomes clearer.

All customers that have sessions booked at Surf Snowdonia will be contacted individually, where they will be offered wither a full refund on their session, or have the price of a new session credited to their account, so nobody is set to lose out.

While the closure is obviously disappointing for anybody that’s already booked, and is obviously embarrassing for the Surf Snowdonia team, the most important thing is the safety of the facility, so the closure is undoubtedly the right thing to do.
