Watch: Stunning Drone Footage Shows Demolition of Giant Hotel in Detroit

...because who doesn't love watching a historic landmark getting blown to bits?

The kinds of events captured on drone seem to be getting more and more interesting every day.

We recently brought you the stunning aerial footage of a full-force tornado approaching Kansas Town, and now there’s another astounding first after YouTube user TheGadgetGuy1 captured the demolition of Detroit’s historic Park Avenue Hotel on his drone.

The building was demolished in order to make way for the new Detroit Red Wings stadium loading dock. It was originally built the 1920’s, and was actually placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006, which we can only imagine made getting rid of it a bit of a controversy.

One thing is for sure though – the drone footage of the famous Park Avenue building going down makes for a memorable watch…
