Everyone hates baggage charges on planes. We’ve all joked about wearing our clothes on the plane instead – but one guy actually took his threat to the next level.
Matt Botten from Cardiff decided to wear ALL of his clothes on an EasyJet flight to Reykjavik, Iceland to beat charge of £45 per checked-in luggage.
He is reported to have emptied the contents of his suitcase in the middle of Gatwick Airport, donned all of his clothes (including a pair of trainers wedged in his pockets) and made his way towards security with his girlfriend.
“We’re going to Iceland baby! And how to do it in a financially frugal manner, without having to stump up forty five bloody quid for a hold bag? Simply by wearing everything I own,” the 32 year-old wrote on Facebook.
This isn’t the first time a traveller has tried to dodge EasyJet baggage rules by wearing all of their clothes. Scottish band member James McElvar from Rewind lost consciousness while flying from London to Glasgow.
He thought he was having a heart attack. It turned out he was suffering from heat exhaustion after dressing himself in six t-shirts, four jumpers, three pairs of jeans, two pair of tracksuit bottoms, a jacket and two hats.
