New Zealand Authorities Claim This In-Flight Video Is Too Sexy

This in-flight video featuring Mick Fanning and Alana Blanchard has got people all hot under the collar....

Over the last few years, New Zealand Air has become well known for it’s big budget, flashy in-flight videos.

Featuring both Hollywood stars and world renowned athletes, the airline has clearly put a lot of thought into how to get their passengers to pay attention to the often ignored safety messages.

One of their latest videos however, which features big name surfers such a Laird Hamilton, Alana Blanchard and Mick Fanning, has received some less enthused attention, for apparently being unnecessarily sexy and distracting.

New Zealand’s regulation authority has claimed in an email that the video, which features fit and tanned athletes running around the beach and paddling out into the waves “detracts from the scope and direction of the safety message.”

“As we have commented previously, the video diverges materially from the ‘safety message’ at times” says a spokesperson for the authority.

“Whilst I appreciate the need to engage the viewers, the extraneous material detracts from the scope and direction of the safety message.”

While we do kind of understanding the authorities reservations, we can’t really see anything wrong with the video, in act it seems fairly harmless compared to many adverts we often see that feature surfers.

At the end of all of this, the big prudes at the regulation authority might have done the airline a favour, as finally we’re all actually paying attention to an safety video!
