These Aerial Photographs of Australian Salt Fields Are Seriously Messing With Our Heads

They'll make you reevaluate the world...and your opinions on modern art.

There are some things in life that everyone takes for granted. The sky is blue (unless you live in Manchester, where it’s always grey), the grass is green, and salt is white. These aerial photos however, taken in Australia, have shattered those perceptions and made us reevaluate the world we live in.

Photographer Simon Butterworth snapped these pictures of blue salt fields from the sky. They feature the kind of patterns you’d see in an abstract art exhibition at the Tate Modern.

We like them, we like them a lot.
