Want To Rent A Private Island With Your Mates? It Could Cost As Little As £16 A Night….

Island party, anyone?

Who wants to holiday on their own private island?! At a guess, we’d say that would be all of us.

Did you know that you can rent an island for as little as £16 a night per person?! We couldn’t believe it, so we rounded up a few of the best ones out there.

Here are eight private island you can rent on AirBnb right now, for the same price as a room at a Holiday Inn in London….

Pine Isle – United States

Cost per person per night: £54.50

Pine Isle in the US isn’t the cheapest option on this list, however the money you pay, is worth the fact that the island can only house two people at a time!

The lone house on the island was built in 1910 and still holds much of it’s original charm and features.

If there’s a radder date than staying over in your very own island, we certainly haven’t found it yet…

Hvaler – Norway

Cost per person per night: £16.40

Yup, a whole island could be yours for under 20 quid a night.

Even better, this private island is in the archipelago of Hvaler, which has the highest number of sunny days per year in Norway and comes with its own boat!

We’re definitely going to try and get a group of five together, for a weekend of sailing around and island parties!

Angra dos Reis- Brazil

Cost per person per night: £44.07

Although it’s a huge £617 a night, this island in Brazil is cheaper per head than Norway! It’s a serious slice of paradise….

Luckily however, the island can hold up to 14 in a group, which brings the price way down to the price of a decent hotel room!

Two decks, two houses, connected by a bridge, private beaches and hammocks hanging in the trees?

Awesome…

Ottawa- Canada

Cost per person per night: £18.50

Another island you can get for the price of a London hostel! This private island in Canada is any watersports and nature lovers dream.

Fishing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, boating are available from the island and the wildlife includes herons, loons, ducks, geese, turkey vultures, turtles, mink, muskrat, beavers, bullfrogs, deer, garter snakes and dragonflies.

Sounds pretty magical.

Hideaway Caye- Belize

Cost per person per night: £81.50

This is the most expensive option on our list, but it is quite an island!

Hideaway Caye is a beautiful mangrove island, kept in it’s natural state with boardwalks winding throughout. How amazing would it be to be the only people to stay on this island?!

The price includes access to kayaks, snorkeling gear and fishing gear for the entire stay.

Laurel Island- East Hampton

Cost per person per night: £50.00

Laurel Island is a 5 acre Island on a Lake in Connecticut, with amazing surroundings and lots of opportunity for kayaking and other water sports.

The price on this island isn’t totally clear cut. The page actually says that the price is only £152 a night and that the whole island can hold 32 people… which would come at under five pounds a head.

Further down however, it clarifies that if you book as a big group for the whole island it comes to £50 each.

Whichever way you choose to book, you still pretty dirt cheap!

Bird Island- Belize

Cost per person per night: £63.50

Finally, our favourite….

Bird Island is a tiny island perfect for basically pretending your actually shipwrecked for a weekend.

Go snorkeling, hang out on the beach, make yourself food in the fully stocked kitchen in the beach house.

We’d quite like to live there full time to be honest…
