Last weekend, the worlds best wakeboarders descended on a chilly Liverpool for Red Bull Harbour Reach.
The likes of two time champion James Windsor, Shane Bonifay, Dominik Hernler Brenton Priestley, and Adam Errington were in town to rip around the historic Albert Dock.
UK interest was held by Scotty Broome, Declan Clifford, Louis Floyd, thee time Wold Championships winner Nick Davies and the slightly nutty Jonty Green, who helped destroy this corner of the Mersey
Of course, it wouldn’t be Red Bull Harbour Reach without the presence of Wakeboard legend Parks Bonifay. The X Games gold medallist took up judging duty, along with Felix Georgii and Andy Klob.
This years course was designed to represent Liverpool, and the industrial past of the Albert Dock, where the event was held.
Along with a wall ride with creeper ledge and rail section, competitors had a genuine cargo barge to board slide along, a massive navigational buoy off the Mersey to try to bonk, and an entire boat to try and trick over.
Austrian rider and 2015 Harbour Reach champion Domink Hernler picked up the number one spot. This was despite tough competition, not least from Aussie and reigning champion James Windsor, who hadn’t put a foot wrong all day until a couple of falls in the final which saw him eliminated.
