Vince Reffet and Fred Fugen broke a world record back in 2014 by BASE jumping off the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building located in Dubai. Can you imagine what the view would have been like from the top? What an adrenaline rush.

6) THE NEW YORK BASE JUMP THAT LANDED THREE ADRENALINE JUNKIES IN COURT

In September 2013, Marko Markovich, James Brady and Andrew Rossig BASE jumped off the top of the Freedom Tower in New York City. The BASE jumping video footage shows an incredible flight with the three landing safely on the ground.

Shortly afterwards, they were all arrested because BASE jumping is illegal in New York. After a lengthy trial, they were sentenced to 300 hours community service and a $2000 fine.

7) BASE JUMPING OUT OF A SKI GONDOLA

This guy illegally jumped out of the Whistler Blackcomb Peak to Peak gondola – a 1,500 feet drop – after prising the doors open, landing safely on the snowy ground. It was said to be a tribute to the ski legend Shane McConkey.

The police tried to arrest the man as he landed but he managed to evade the police. The girl pictured in the BASE jumping video said she didn’t know the man and “was just sightseeing”.

8) SPACE NET BASE JUMP

Deep in the Utah desert, Andy Lewis created this 2000 square foot woven net to hang over a canyon in Moab. Thrill seeker Matt Blank shows his epic descent in this BASE jumping video through the centre of the net. The Space Net was suspended for one week and more than 200 successful BASE jumps were made.

9) NOW THAT’S ONE WAY TO ESCAPE THE COPS

He’s known as the Jester among his BASE jumping friends. He was approached by the police on Bixby Bridge in Big Sur, California before BASE jumping from the bridge and landing on the beach below. Oh yeah, and he was drunk.

Needless to say, the cops caught up with him and sent him to court. He was put on probation and an alcohol rehab programme.

10) FELIX BAUMGARTNER’S FREEFALL FROM OUTER SPACE

When Felix Baumgartner stepped out of a helium-filled balloon at an altitude of 128,100 feet, the whole world could not believe their eyes. It immediately broke the record for the world’s highest freefall and the highest manned balloon flight ever.

This is truly one of those heart-in-your-mouth moments as you watch him teetering on the edge of oblivion. While not strictly a BASE jumping video, it is still one of the most amazing freefalls the world has ever seen.
