The K2 Reckoner 112 sits in the centre of K2’s all new Reckoner range of skis. Promising to be a big-mountain twin tip that likes to “float the pow, smash the pillows, slash the wind lips, bust the crud, and stomp the landings, forwards or backwards.”
In short, the K2 Reckoner 112 sits in that category of fat skis that like to keep things loose in the backcountry, similar to that of the Armada ARV 116 JJ. While the beefed up Armada ARV 116 JJ felt like a backcountry ski with a freeride focus, the K2 Reckoner 112 feels like a backcountry ski with a freestyle focus.

K2 Reckoner 112 Build
Similar to the Reckoner 102, the Reckoner 112 is built around a medium stiffness; one that’ll not feel too demanding when you’re turning up the style dials in the backcountry. K2’s carbon fibre Spectral Braid technology has been used, and it sits above a ‘Double Barrel’ wood core.
This is the exact same core that’s found on the Reckoner 102. Two different woods have been used in parallel to each other here: Aspen and Fir. Lightweight and poppy Aspen has been used in the centre of the core, with a denser Fir flanking either side of the Aspen. This best of both worlds approach beefs up the durability of the core, while avoiding the dreaded ‘dead’ feeling that many dense woods bring with them.
