The Dynafit Beast 108 has long sat at the top of Dynafit’s freeride range of skis. Offering a 108 mm waisted freeride shape and impressively low weight, we couldn’t be more stoked to see a Beast ski return to the ski touring market.
Dynafit have been hard at work tinkering away to bring some improvements to this all-new ski, many of which we’ll touch on below. These improvements resulted in a total of 100 grams weight saving per ski. While this may not seem like a lot, we’re sure you’ll take whatever savings you can when you’re hours into a ski tour.
Dynafit Beast 108 Build
And, while weight has been thrown overboard, Dynafit were sure that this slashing of weight wouldn’t come at the cost of downhill performance. This approach was made possible largely thanks to the adoption of a few premium materials, such as switching from traditional braided carbon to unidirectional carbon inlayers, for a boost in response without the weight penalty.
Similar to what we’re seeing in many other touring skis, Dynafit has chosen to use a fully carbon core in the shovel area. This not only helps to keep weight at a minimum, but also reduces swing weight for when you need to throw the skis around in steep terrain while also working to reduce any unwanted high speed tip chatter.
