Head has brought back the Oblivion range for the 2022 winter season with three brand new skis on offer – the Oblivion 79, 84 and 94. These skis, the Head Oblivion 84 offer a traditional park-focused shape for skiers who love to spend a good chunk of time in the air or sliding rails.
“Head has created the tools that their skiers will bring with them to the 2022 Tokyo Olympic Games”
By enlisting the help of many of Head’s freestyle athlete team – we’re talking the likes of Aaron Blunck, Jesper Tjäder and Emil Granbom – Head has created the tools that their skiers will bring with them to the 2022 Tokyo Olympic Games. The Head Oblivion 84 is built to stand up to some of the biggest park terrain on the planet, and come out the other end in one piece.
Head Oblivion 84 Build
Claiming that a freestlye ski is able to survive a beating in the park is a pretty big deal. Many ski brands claim that their skis can tackle it, but many fail to deliver. Head has looked to address this by turning to the edges and sidewalls. The edges feature a thicker, and therefore more durable, material, while the sidewalls are protected by Head’s ‘Tuff-Wall’ tech. Tuff Wall is essentially an impact resistant ABS that covers the full sidewall, saving this exposed section from any chips or breaks.
Then, looking at the bases, you’ve got Head’s UHM-C base. This is Head’s bombproof base material that’s built like a tank in an effort to survive rail hit after rail hit. This toughened base material isn’t at the loss of run in speed, either, as the UHM-C base is still more than capable of sliding extremely fast.
