You’ve got two zipped sections of the pack: one main compartment and another smaller one that looks ideal for all sorts of personal items (keys, wallet, headphones, etc). Looking at the bigger main compartment, this can be opened out, just like many other Db suitcases, fully to show the entirety of the compartment. It’s preferable to having to blindly dive your arm in, as you do with a normal backpack.

The bag is handy as it naturally stands vertically, this makes accessing the top smaller compartment really easy. It does though mean you’ll need to lay the bag flat, kind of like a suitcase, to open up the main compartment.

For a pack this size, Db’s Hook Up System is a great way to provide a versatile carry system while also giving your back a much-needed rest when you’re hauling the pack through airports and train stations. Pair the bag with one of DB’s roller bags, such as the Snowroller, and the Støm will be able to piggyback onto the roller, saving your back when you find yourself with twenty bricks stuffed in it.

Other handy features include a separate laptop compartment that can take up to 16” laptops, while adjustable shoulder straps, and decent back and strap padding, provide a comfortable carry. All the buckles are also made from what looks to be a toughened metal  – something you’ll be thankful for if you ever leave your bag to the mercy of the baggage handlers.
