January in the UK is known for little else other than waiting for the first payday of the year after the obligatory Christmas splurge, and shaking off an epic New Year’s Eve hangover. It’s certainly not synonymous with balmy weather conditions conducive to spending a week on the road filming a skateboard video. Props then to Converse’s CONS UK team for braving the elements to produce yet another superlative edit, which is presented here for your pleasure. Fittingly, they’re calling this one Braving the Cold, and it’s being released to promote the launch of the new KA3 shoe.
Fortunately for the lads, the weather was actually fairly kind to them given the circumstances, and they managed to film some seriously impressive street styles, helped out no doubt by the distinct lack of pedestrians (we’re assuming they were all tucked up in their comfy homes nursing those hangovers and mining the sofa for loose change). They started off in Jamie Platt’s home turf of not-so-sunny Bournemouth, then headed east along the coast to Portsmouth. From there it was on to Oxford, Wolverhampton and Stoke-On-Trent, before eventually ending up in the beautiful Northern cities of Sheffield and Manchester (by all accounts they don’t mind the cold up there, although the streets still look pretty quiet so we’re assuming everybody was in the pub).
Jamie and his teammates Jerome Campbell, Harry Lintell, Jamie Platt, Mike Arnold and Matlok Bennett-Jones certainly had their work cut out covering so many miles in one trip, but it’s paid off handsomely. James Cruickshank is on production duties, and what a good job he’s done too.
