Instagram Vs Reality: What Skateboarding Is Really Like

The camera does lie... and it uses #NoFilter even when it shouldn't

Where skateboarding goes, the rest of society follows. So, it stands to reason that the popularity of Instagram means that skateboarding is well represented by perfectly filtered, square images designed to gain more likes that a shot of a naked Kardashian arse is designed to gain column inches.

Anybody who’s smashed their board into their shin, landed on their elbow, and rolled in dog piss (please let it be dog piss) will confirm, the rose-tinted world of skateboarding on Instagram is very, very different to skateboarding in reality.
