That’s it, then. The end of days. A negative way to start an article perhaps, but evidence emerged over the weekend that suggests our time as the dominant species on earth is coming to an end. The aliens, it would seem, are initiating phase one of their plan for galactic domination.

Why the panic? Why the impending feeling of dread? The answer to both questions can be seen in the following video, filmed in Taiwan recently.  Reports tell us that the strange green creature is some sort of ribbon worm, or Nemertea, which normally lives beneath the surface of the water. News outlets are also suggesting that the pink appendage is likely to be its proboscis, which it uses for hunting.

Nope. Sorry. We’re not buying it. That is definitely an alien. I mean, just look at it. LOOK AT IT. If that isn’t an alien, then I didn’t have a haircut at the weekend (note to the Mpora readership: I did have a haircut at the weekend).

Let us not wallow in sadness or fear, or a weird conglomeration of the two. We, the human race, have had a good run but enough is enough. Let us now bow down before the green worms from Zogdoon: Sector 14, and accept that we are now underlings to a greater power.

They’ll shape us to their will and, presumably, make us build giant statues in honour to their worm gods. But, that’s OK. Just smile, and act like everything is normal. Resistance is futile.
