It’d be hard to sum up a day in the life of Danny MacAskill. One day the trials sensation could be front-flipping the walls of Edinburgh castle, the next he’ll be nailing full loops on the Thames, and after that he might even find himself jumping over highland cows in the middle of Glasgow.
Surprisingly enough, we didn’t make that last one up either.
That’s right, Danny has been jumping over farmyard animals in the past week in promotion of the Fort William downhill World Cup this June. An obscure way to promote the event perhaps, but sure enough, it’s got a lot of folk’s attention.
Speaking to the Press Association after the shoot though, the Scotsman admitted it was one of the stranger days he’s ever spent on a bike.
“When I got asked to go and do a press call,” he said, “I didn’t expect to be jumping… y’know, around a cow. It’s quite random, yeah, but it’s good fun! At least we got the good weather for it!”
What’s up next for Danny? Judging by the video above, you’d be a fool to even guess…
Danny will be taking his Drop and Roll trials stunt team to the Fort William extravaganza this year, which will take place over the week starting June 1 and culminate in the downhill finals on June 7.
The team was formed last year and have since racked up an impressive hit list of locations, performing everywhere from Barcelona, Rotterdam and Amsterdam to nearer home at the Commonwealth Games.
What’s next up for the cycling sensation? Judging by the press call above, you’d be a fool to even guess.
