If you thought Bob Burnquist had maxed out his radness levels, think again. This morning, on his official Facebook page, the 38 year old Brazilian-born skateboard legend revealed that he might be about to open the gates on ‘Dreamland’.
‘Dreamland’ might sound like a level on Sonic The Hedgehog 2, but it’s actually the official name of Burnquist’s private skateboarding paradise. Situated in the back garden of his Californian crib, it makes your local skatepark, or any other skatepark for that matter, look like a pile of gnarly manure.
With one of the world’s few permanent mega ramps, a full pipe, a corkscrew, and a legendary vert-ramp; this place is basically Valhalla for anyone who enjoys pulling tricks on oversized tech decks. And now it’s opening up its gates to mere mortals like you, me, and the supermarket man who shouts at yoghurt.
Before you completely lose your shit, and start booking your plane tickets, Burnquist has said that this will only be for a few days (the 23rd/24th of April 2015), and that he’s still working out the logistics of it all. He also said, in his Facebook message, that “It will be a relatively short (guest) list cause it is my house.” Fair enough.
Bob Burnquist, man of the people.
