Maya Gordon

Growing up, Maya competed nationally in alpine ski racing where she earned herself the ski nickname 'pocket rocket' for her very limited height and unlimited need for speed. Following her degrees in Medieval History, Maya bid farewell to skiing to start a career in History, but her plans took a 180 degree turn after watching the 2018 Winter Olympics women's slopestyle finals. Instead, Maya travelled to New Zealand to master the park. Since switching gates for jumps and rails she hasn't looked back. Maya now instructs and competes in freeskiing between New Zealand and Switzerland and is excited by challenging the status quo in freeskiing. She strives to enable girls and women to achieve their full potential by coaching women's specific freestyle sessions, writing about the sky-high progression of women's freeskiing, and reviewing the best women's ski gear out there with Mpora.
