Fitbit Blaze Fitness Smart Watch Review

Mountain pursuits often involve short, sharp bursts of activity usually over a short period. A week’s ski trip, a good weather window on the mountain you are to climb, a long planned weekend bikepacking trip. The best way to get the most out of those moments, is to stay fit all winter long, and for that we have the fitbit blaze.

Personal fitness becomes smarter all the time with tools like the Fitbit Blaze. It allows enthusiasts to enjoy almost all the same training tools as a professional athlete, but it also helps you look after your wellbeing. And that means sleep patterns, food intake, keeping moving throughout the day, and making the most of your precious exercising time.

“It’s the perfect way to keep on top of your fitness so that your skiing holiday, or mountaineering trip, or bikepacking mission will be all the more enjoyable.”

The Fitbit can cover all of these areas with ease and without being obtrusive into your life; it’s the fitness tracker that has the balance right. It provides a stack of data, but you can go as deep or as shallow into that data as you like and it will still make sense. It’s very smart indeed.

It can track all manner of sports with a connected GPS measuring distance, your route, average pace and your heartbeat (without the need for a chest strap), whether you’re running, cycling, in the gym or on the track. For gym work, the FitStar provides on screen workouts – we particularly enjoyed the seven minute workouts to get moving.

By syncing it with your phone, it will also let you know when you’ve got a message or a diary alarm. There’s also an app that opens up to allow you to see all the data the Fitbit has collected, but it also integrates with social networks too. Additional features on the app allow you to log food, track weight and measure hydration. There’s also a desktop app. The user interface across the Blaze and the app are all intuitive and can be picked up in no time. The battery life for average use is also around five days, so pretty good.

It’s all quite effortless really, and the perfect way to keep on top of your fitness so that your skiing holiday, or mountaineering trip, or bikepacking mission will be all the more enjoyable.
