British Canoeist David Florence has had quite the week. Two days ago, he was feeling heartbroken after having messed up his run in the C1 individual canoeing final at the Rio White Water Stadium. But this evening he was all smiles after winning the C2 doubels event with his paddling partner Richard Hounslow.
The pair, who finished in the same position at the London Olympics four years ago, unfortunately couldn’t quite match the time set by the blindingly quick Slovakian Skantar brothers, who’d dropped before them.
“They looked happy to be in second at the end of their run.”
