Disc Brake vs. Industrial Lathe: Watch What Happens Next…

Spoiler: It doesn't end well...

Have you ever damaged your disc brakes? Overheated them during a downhill or racked up a bill after missing the target with your bike cleaner?

Well, we’re guessing that no matter how much you ended up paying to get the things fixed, you probably still didn’t damage them as badly as this guy… who decided for one reason or another, to attack some disc brakes with an industrial lathe.

We can imagine it would’ve been a good stress reliever anyway.

This comes from the same man who runs the Hydraulic Press YouTube channel, and has previously brought us such classics as hydraulic press vs. bowling ball, hydraulic press vs. red hot nickel balls and hydraulic press vs. gummy bears. Needless to say, the gummy bears didn’t stand much of a shot.

As we’re sure you imagined, the disc brake in question in the video below doesn’t hold up particularly well either given that it’s up against an industrial lathe. Actually it sets on fire. The lathe was going at 800rpm to be fair though… so we’re guessing you don’t have to worry about your brakes.
