Is the Hangover Mountain Bike Trail in Sedona, Arizona the World’s Most Technical?

Would you ride this?

Most hangover cures involve an element of brutality. The kick of the vodka in a bloody mary. The spice in a breakfast burrito. The sheer effort of a remedial gym session. But there can be few that are quite as brutal as this – the hangover trail, a particularly gnarly mountain bike route in Sedona, Arizona.

The trail is not only technical, with insane overhangs and ridiculously tight sections to navigate, it also runs along the edge of a 500 foot drop. Make a false move and it could be your last.

“It runs along the edge of a 500 foot drop. Make a false move and it could be your last.”

But none of that stopped mountain biker Nate Hills and his friend Alex Petitdemange from tackling this and uploading the footage on what is for many people the most brutal hangover day of the year – January 1st.

Just watching this gives us kittens, and we’re not even hungover (well, not anymore…)

As the open-source Mountain Bike Project website puts it: “This trail is only rideable for VERY experienced riders willing to take on a good deal of risk.

“Others can complete the trail, but may consider it to be more of a hike than a bike ride.” You certainly wouldn’t catch us attempting it on New Year’s Day, put it that way.
