Mountain biking can be dangerous. If you’re going at full-speed, down a gnarly-looking trail, there’s a whole heap of obstacles you need to worry about. Trees with too many branches, jagged rocks, and sections that are so steep they can make the average newcomer soil their pants in fear are all familiar areas of danger for the MTBer.

But, what about the aerial threat? What about other mountain bikers flying through the air and nearly decapitating you with their tyres? You don’t have to worry about that, surely? Well, if this footage from the Leogang Bikepark in Austria is anything to go by…maybe you do.
