Remember the first time you saw snow? That was nice, wasn’t it? A pleasant, formative, experience that nobody can ever take away from you. “Take this away from me,” you shout from the window, “I dare you to take away this memory.”
But they can’t. Nobody can. It’s yours. Your memory.
Ah, yes. Snow. Beautiful snow.
Remember the first time you went mountain biking in winter? Before the C word came along and ruined everything (thanks for nothing C word, thanks… for… nothing). There was a bit of snow on the ground wasn’t there? Little bits here and there. You were basically riding in a winter wonderland. You even quietly started singing that classic Dean Martin song ‘Walking In A Winter Wonderland’ under your breath, but stealthily changed the words to ‘Riding In A Winter Wonderland’. It was glorious.
“What’s that, mate?” your friend asked, “You say something?”
“Oh, that was nothing,” you said, “Nothing to worry about.”
All while that infectious Dean Martin melody played in your brain.
Anyway, err… here’s a top to bottom POV video of Oscar Härnström riding one of his favourite tracks (it’s in Pila, Italy). He filmed it before all this COVID-19 piss came along and rained on our parade. It’s a really nice watch, and will make you miss mountain biking even more than you were already missing it.
There’s snow in it. Lots and lots of snow.
