One Trail, One Shot: This Mountain Bike Footage is Sure to Get You Hyped

Could the one-shot format be the future for mountain bike edits?

What the world seems to be coming to realise about mountain bike edits is that the less shots you use, often the better it can be.

Unless you’ve been superglued to your ceiling for the past few months, you’ll no doubt have seen the prime example of this theory – the one-shot, four-minute slopestyle line from Brandon Semenuk that made the world of mountain biking rightly go bonkers.

That was a segment from the MTB film ‘unReal’, which amongst other things also brought us mountain biking in a brown pow blizzard and in the middle of a glacier, but it was Semenuk who really stole all the attention.

How could he not with a segment like this? It’s no wonder it’s been hailed as the best of all time.

Anyway, back to the point, and this one-shot, one-trail trail mountain bike clip dropped from Diamondback Bicycles. ‘Moments: Episode 1 featuring Mike Hopkins’ follows Mike along a 30+ second trail in one swift movement, and it makes for a really interesting, awesome watch.

Writing on the YouTube description, Diamondback say: “Cruisin! Definition: The moment you lock into that piece of trail, the trail you have ridden hundreds of times; the one that makes you feel like a superhero on wheels. It’s just you, your bike, and a blur of green. A tribute to the capeless crusader of the forest.”

Watching Mike in amongst the green blur of the forest really does make for a sweet watch, and we can’t wait to see any similar clips that come out. It’d be rad to see a full, lengthy trail filmed in this manner, though having seen the making of Semenuk’s one-shot segment, we know that it’s no easy feat.
