Watch The Downhill Mountain Biking World Champion Chase 126 Riders Down A Hill

Rachel Atherton leads the only fox hunt that mountain bikers can get behind...

Rachel Atherton has had one hell of a year. After coming second at the first UCI downhill world cup race of the season in April, the British champ went on to win every other one of the remaining six races – and then reclaimed the World Championship crown in Vallnord for good measure.

Safe to say that Rachel has got used to being on top again. She’s beaten the likes of Emmeline Ragot, Manon Carpenter, Tracey Hannah and Tahnee Seagrave time and time again this year. But could she beat 126 other mountain bikers down a trail having given them a helpful head start?

That’s what woman-only mountain bike race Red Bull Foxhunt aimed to find out in the scenic Pentland Hills in Edinburgh last weekend, and the result may just surprise you…

A solid effort from Rachel then, with more than a few eventful scenes on the way down. It’s awesome to see so many people riding at once though – and congrats to the 35 riders who managed to beat the reigning World Champion down the hill!

Elite enduro racer 22-year-old Bex Baraona from Manchester won the event in a time of 3 minutes 53 seconds, so a huge shoutout to her too in particular!
